Autumn Detox

PINELOPE ZIRI    |    30 SEPT - 3 OCT

DESCRIPTION

This retreat is designed to detoxify your body and mind.

Asanas (postures), Kriyas (breathing techniques, nasal decongestion, eye cleaning), Meditation and targeted Nutrition are the main methods will be used in order to achieve a rejuvenating cleansing for your physical, mental and spiritual levels increasing your vitality and clarity.

Your daily practice will consist of two yoga sessions. Specific Asanas will help your body eliminate unwanted impurities (such as carbon dioxide, lactic acid, lymphatic fluid), stimulate and support specific organs and improve blood circulation. Inversions, forward bends and twists will be our pillars in our yoga routine.

Kriyas include Pranayama, breathing techniques that increase oxygen levels and stimulate the lymphatic system, which results in faster and more effective removal of toxins from our body. Neti, nasal decongestion using a neti pot to open the air passages to the brain. Trataka, focusing our eyes at a candle flame in order to clean and strengthen our vision and memory.

Meditation has the ability to quiet the mind, improves mental function, reduces negative emotions and anxiety two of the most common factors that stress our body creating a great impact on our physical chemistry. At the same time is a habitual process which increases awareness bringing clarity, focus and balance to our nervous system by eliminating the fight or flight response.

Nutrition is an essential part of optimal health and in this retreat will be based on herbal infusions, smoothies, green juices, superfoods, organic nuts and salads. You will enhance your immune and detoxification system and provide a natural healing to your body from inside out.

Coming out of this holistic detoxing experience you will feel rejuvenated, increase your energy levels and help you build healthy habits.

THE TEACHER

My love and curiosity for human movement and anatomy was initially expressed when I decided to become a physiotherapist. My journey in the wonderful world of affection and love towards the human body started in 2009, when I graduated from the Technical Institute of Physiotherapy of Thessaloniki, Greece. After working as an associate in a Physiotherapy Centre until 2015, I gained thorough experience in dealing with patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain, spinal cord problems and injuries, soft tissue injuries and pelvic floor rehabilitation.

My thirst for constant personal and educational development was the reason I explored several techniques and methods of rehab. This knowledge led me into approaching the human body and mind in a holistic way. That’s when Yoga came into my life!

My first contact with Yoga was In 2015 when I completed a teacher's training at Grafts, Hellas. The experience was life changing and my desire to deepen my knowledge led me into continuing my studies and in 2016 I became a certified Yoga Teacher after completing the 200h course from YogaWorks.  Yoga transformed my therapeutic skills, providing the quality needed in order to connect all the different pieces that synthesize each person’s uniqueness. In 2019, YogaWorks welcomed me in the teachers' team as an Injury Management Specialist.

After years of practicing this interdisciplinary approach, I started developing my own therapeutic programs for the prevention and treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain that combine traditional physiotherapy methods and Yoga.
